The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program is a Montessori based religious education program for young children. This program is approved by the Archdiocese as an alternative to the traditional PSR curriculum. Saint Brigid currently offers the Level 1 CGS program for any child from 4 to 6 years of age. CGS acknowledges that there is an inherent relationship between the child and Jesus, the Good Shepherd, which precedes formal religious education. Children are encouraged to explore this relationship and the essentials of our Catholic faith, liturgy, and sacraments through hands on work with materials that are carefully prepared for them.
Catechists in the program are certified by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We are currently in need of enthusiastic individuals to train in the Level 1 program. Training is scheduled to begin in late August. For more information please contact Kim Sansone.
