EDGE is parish-based middle school (7th & 8th grade) youth ministry program that leads teens closer to Christ through relevant and interactive catechesis. Edge Nights create the engaging, interactive setting for comprehensive catechesis within the context of EDGE middle school ministry.
Each EDGE night includes dinner, games, a teaching talk and small group discussions, with special nights featuring Reconciliation, Praise & Worship, or Adoration. Each semester is based on a theme provided by the USCCB. Semester topics include Scripture, Social Justice, Creed, Church, Prayer, and Jesus. Other topics that prepare the youth for real life situations are peppered into the curriculum including themes like bullying, the media, texting, and Facebook. EDGE nights are on Sundays from 6-8pm in Corbett Hall.
A few times a year we offer social nights (trivia, movies, end of the year party) at the Sunday EDGE or weekend night social outings like the Corn Maze, Bowling, and Lake Lanier Islands.
In addition to Sunday EDGE Nights and Social Outtings, a weekly Bible study (optional) is offered to allow kids to grow deeper in faith in a smaller group environment. Bible study includes video teachings, group discussions, journal/workbook, prayers and games. Bible Study is on Tuesdays from 7-8:45 PM in the Youth Center.
The EDGE also serves the community through soup kitchen trips, canned food and clothing drives, and various charitable works around the parish.
Each Spring the youth venture to a Georgia retreat center for a renewing retreat weekend get away!
